Atea brand's new creative director Laura Myers was inspired by her own experience traveling in the Far East, full of simple and elegant, easily worn modern pieces.  'I wanted to create a collection that reflected the way that my friends and I wanted to dress,' she explains, of skirts and dresses made from a wool-mix take on neoprene, and light, boyish chambray shirts. 'Atea means something ‘distant and remote’ in Polynesian languages, and was chosen to reflect my experience of growing up on the other side of the world and the sense of relaxed, easiness that this experience infuses into the brand and collections. The idea was to create a wearable wardrobe of items that can be mixed and matched by orchestrating the proportions, silhouettes, colors and fabrics of the garments to work harmoniously.'
